Congratulations to local popsters Alphabet Backwards, who are to release their debut album Little Victories very soon; the 1st of October to be precise. Going for what I have dubbed the ‘double milestone look’, they also are set to play their first headline slot at the O2 Academy on the 8th of September, with support from We Aeronauts, Yarns and Correatown; a summation of some of the finest bands Oxford has to offer at the moment.
Released on Highline Records and produced by Brian O’Shaughnessy (Primal Scream, Tender Trap, Long Blondes), the record looks set to provide us with the band’s fizzy, uplifting pop as per usual, but with the added songcraft and professionalism that a experienced producer brings. Evident from single ‘Taller’ (which can be heard/seen below), the band are sounding good; a polished, concise and professional sounding tune if ever I’ve heard one.
Limited pre-release copies of Little Victories will be available on the night, with tickets costing £5/6. Get down there.
