The band have announced the release of their first album in four years. Put in your diaries folks; on August 29th, Beirut’s new album – The Riptide – will be released internationally and independently courtesy of Pompeii Records (via Forte Distribution).
Zachary Condon and Co proved to be one of the most inventive and intriguing bands in American folk with the release of their fantastic Eastern-European-sounding 2006 debut Gulag Orkestar, and then went one better, one year later, with the French-inspired The Flying Club Cup.
The band recently released the track ‘East Harlem’, taken from The Riptide, and, although fans of wild change might be disappointed, we prefer to remain positive and say that the song is a fine polishing of their previous sound. What do you think? Listen underneath:
