Often a remix means nothing more than a second rate house DJ processing beats over an old 80s pop song which no one likes or remembers to create a club night “classic” which then soundtracks a teenage summer full of Tequilla Sunrise flavoured vomit and inflamed urethra’s. But sometimes, just sometimes, two geniuses clash their heads together to create something genuinely intriguing.
Both legends in their own right, Caribou and Radioheadhave combined forces to create a remix worth getting excited about. Radiohead posted the first two remixes to be taken from their series of ltd edition 12″‘ that will be released over the Summer on their website Dead Air Space.
Here’s what the band had to say about it:
The first in a series of ltd edition remixes on 12″ vinyl will be released on Monday 4th July (or Tuesday in the US & Canada).
The series kicks off with Caribou remixing Little by Little, and a remix of Lotus Flower by Jacques Greene, both of which we were really excited about.
Hopefully you will find the vinyl in your local independent record shop, but if not, you can buy by mailorder here. If you don’t have a record player, there are digital versions available here, here, here and here.
More 12″ remixes will be released every couple of weeks over the summer until we run out of remixes…or summer. On the next one we’ve got Nathan Fake (Morning Mr Mapgie) and remixes of Bloom by Mark Pritchard.
