Well? Has your post-rock outfit just recorded a new LP in a lifeboat station? ANSWER ME! Of course not, because YOU (probably) aren’t in Listing Ships. They have. And they’ve got an online tour diary (below) to prove it. So there.
Entitled The Hayling Island Sessions, the album will be available on 12″ Vinyl and download on the 29th of October courtesy of Idle Fret records.
To celebrate the release of this deep-sea delivery of pelagic post-rock, the Oxford foursome will be holding a nautically themed launch party at the Wheatsheaf tomorrow, with support coming from Go Romano and Vienna Ditto.
Now, we’ve all seen many bands and the Wheatsheaf but I think it’s safe to say that no-one, BUT NO-ONE, has seen it decked out like a bleedin’ ship. So put on your best gondolier’s outfit and get down there.
Doors are at 8pm with the first band at 8.30pm. There are a couple of cheap advance tickets online (http://www.wegottickets.com/event/182440) or they are only a fiver on the day.
Elsewhere, Listing Ships will be supporting Damo Suzuki with ODC Drumline at this year’s Audioscope festival.
