Live Preview: Communion Oxford w/Scarlett And The Wilderness

After the success of the first one, Communion are back for more, and this time round it appears that they listened to our suggestion and have duly acted upon it. At the first Communion Oxford gig at the Jericho Tavern our reviewer Naomi Rose noted that the line-up was a little bit of an, ahem, shall we say, sausage fest (“But after hearing 20, count ‘em 20 guys in a night, here’s hoping for some female performers next time!”). And so Communion have taken our advice and enlisted a few ladies for the next one, which takes place at the Jericho Tavern once more on November 6th.

Oxford’s very own bohemian, burlesque and positively Balkan Scarlett And The Wilderness will be the headline the gig with support from Jokers Daughter who had their last album porduced by Danger Mouse (read a lovely Pitchfork review of it here). The rest of the lin-up is made up of The Great Hereafter and XIII And The Brave (whose lead singer is Simon Le Bon’s daughter).

Tickets cost £6 in advance, £8 on the door and can be purchased here. And why not take a peek at the Facebook events page.
