What? Potential British indie-rock starlets, potential indie-folk starlets, potential singer-songwriter starlet. Basically, lots of potential on show.
Where? O2 Academy Oxford
When? Sunday 19th February 2012. Doors open at 7pm.
Why? All these acts have an association with the city of Oxford. Do you remember the Truck led OX4 Festival back in 2010? It was similar to last year’s Ley Lines Festival and brought some of the most promising, rising names in indie-rock to the Cowley Road. Well, tonight’s headliners, Nottingham’s Dog Is Dead, and the main support, Boat To Row, performed at that very festival just as they were beginning to make a name for themselves in the UK. Both artists have come a long way since and it looks as if either could be the “next big thing” in mainstream British indie. Another performer with bags of commercial potential is Oxford singer-songwriter Lewis Watson. With a twitter following to rival Master Biebers, there could be no stopping this kid, and at 19 years old he’s certainly got time on his side.
