Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. (AKA Sam Duckworth) has been a talent bubbling under the radar of the mainstream since his 2006 debut The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager. With the album really speaking to 6th form students with acoustic guitars who didn’t want to sound like Damien Rice; certainly not edgy, but not limp-wristed soppy balladeering either. A little bit indie, a little bit folk and (say it quietly) a little bit emo.
Duckworth hasn’t really received the same media attention since, but has been quietly plugging away releasing two albums since and with another in the pipeline for a release this year. He has also enjoyed a relatively steady flow of fans ready to fork out to see him perform live. Those same fans will most likely be in attendance at his live performance at the O2 Academy Oxford this Wednesday (May 23rd). Tickets cost £8.50 and can be purchased by clicking here. Support comes from RAMS’ Pocket Radio and Shoes And Socks Off.
