Live Preview: To Kill A King

Sunday October 9th, at The Jericho Tavern, sees the first in a series of Oxford shows hosted by Communion Music, the record label and musical venture established by  Ben Lovett (Mumford And Sons), Kevin Jones (Cherbourg) and acclaimed producer Ian Grimble. Across the years, Communion has been involved with artists such as Mumford And Sons, Laura Marling, Noah And The Whale, Johnny Flynn, Alessi’s Ark, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, the list goes on. Basically, any new British folk artist around these days has probably had something to do with Communion.

This month, To Kill A King headline and if you’re a big fan of what Communion have doen in the past, chances are that you’ll like these guys too, producing music fairly akin to the gentle, layered pop pleasantry of Noah And The Whale. Oxford natives Spring Offensive continue their recent rise to local domination with another fantastic gig and opportunity to prove just how good their live performances have become.

The the rest of the bill is made up by breezy indie-pop group Arthur And The Wide Sea and earnest singer-songwriter Juan Zelada.
