Texan post-rock heroes Explosions In The Sky are back with a brand new song, and its available for you to download for free. The song ‘Trembling Hands’ is taken from their impending new album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care which is out on Monday 18th May. The new song may not be as long as you’d expect from the band, clocking in at a mere 3 minutes and 31 seconds, but where the song may lack in length it makes up for it as a concise introduction to their new record.
The band have not released an album since All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone in 2007, so why so long fellas? “One of us got married. One of us has had two kids since the last album. One of us has panic attacks.” OK fair enough. “One of us took classical guitar lessons. One of us restored a piano from 1888. One of us had a serious illness in the family (and a recovery). One of us attempted, but did not complete, the P90X program.” Yeah, that’s fine, don’t worry about it. “One of us was obsessed with this new album having 17 shorter songs. One was obsessed with the album sounding like a dream.” Seriously guys, it’s fine, we forgive you! And very pleased to have you back.
The band are also touring their new album this May at the following UK venues:
Sunday 15 May – EDINBURGH – Picture House (£16)
Tuesday 17 May – MANCHESTER – Academy (£16)
Thursday 19 May – LONDON – Roundhouse (£18.50)
You can download the song for free by forgiving your email address to the band on their website (http://www.explosionsinthesky.com), or simply listen to it on Bella Union’s Soundcloud posted underneath:
