New Panda Bear Album Gets A Release Date

Noah Lennox, the man behind Panda Bear, who also plays for Animal Collective, has announced that his new album Tomboy is to be released on the 18th April through Paw-Tracks, home to the likes of Ariel Pink and First Nation.

Curiously, Lennox has cited the likes of Nirvana and White Stripes as prominent influences for his latest release, stepping away from the use of electronic samples to focus on guitar and rhythm. There is no doubt that a guitar heavy album from Lennox is an exciting and interesting prospect, especially when its been mixed by legendary producer Pete Kember, who helped MGMT find their spacious pop sound.

2007’s Person Pitch’ was a gorgeous and lively experiment in samples-based pop music, so if the man behind it wants to knock out a garage-rock album, that is totally cool on OMB’s watch!
