New Release: A Place To Bury Strangers

The darkly shoegaze inspired A Place To Bury Strangers have announced the release of their debut EP, Onwards To The Wall, on February 6th 2012 courtesy of Dead Oceans. The band have also pencilled in a UK tour next Spring. Listen to their new track – ‘So Far Away’ – underneath.

A Place To Bury Strangers are New York noise-rockers who blend deadpan post-punk vocals with echoey, fuzzy guitar lines to create a sound which is delectibly dark and terribly moody. They have recently been praised by Pitchfork (“pull beauty out of eardrum-puncturing bleakness”), Uncut (“It’s gratifying to find a band with a different take on noise-pop intensity”) and Q Magazine (“Consistently they manage to either build a decent tune into the squall or else engage the listener through exhilarating power alone”).

Tracklisting for Onwards To The Wall:
1. I Lost You
2. So Far Away
3. Onwards To The Wall
4. Nothing Will Surprise Me
5. Drill It Up
