‘Carousel’ is the debut single from London psych-pop four-piece Younghusband. The single, which will be released on June 27th courtesy of Too Pure, was recorded last year with Archie Bronson Outfit’s and XL signing Capitol K (Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti, The Vivian Girls) and mixed by Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, Stephen Malkmus).
The song mixes elements of 1980s British shoegaze with that classic Californian psychedelic haziness of the 60s. Fans of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine will find Younghusband’s (whose frontman Euan Hinshelwood is also a member of Emmy The Great) sound pleasingly familiar. And if you were at Truck Festival in 2009 you may have already seen the band as it was the venue of their debut live performance. The band will be performing at this year’s Green Man Festival.
