For those who haven’t seen the mesmerising live performances of Savages over the last six months or so, this will be treat indeed. A post-punk treat. Recorded live at the Nottingham Bodega, ‘City’s Full’ bares witness to the London band going in all guns blazing; a fuzz and feedback explosion containing the intensity of Wire, the soaring guitars of My Bloody Valentine and the macabre of PiL, whilst still retaining the uniqueness and vitality that has set them a cut above in 2012.
Featuring on the upcoming I Am Here live EP (released digitally on September 30th and on 12″ vinyl on October 8th), the track is the first one to emerge since the Flying to Berlin/Husbands double A-side released in August due to demand.
Set to appear as the token indie band slot on Later… With Jools Holland next week, they seem set for very big things in 2013. And I mean Busted big.
