New Video: Kat May

Kat May is a female singer-songwriter who possesses a certain (oh how do I say this?) juhnuh sayqua? No, that not right. Je Nous Se Qua? Yeah, that’s better. Anyway, ignore that opening gambit into bilingual territory, I know exactly what Kat May is all about; tender songs of exquisite poise and beauty. Hailing from France, but now in London, Kat, who has previously worked with Saint Saviour, is now embarking upon a solo career of her own and will release her first EP – The Trees Of Regents Park – in May 2012 (which you can pre-order directly from her Bandcamp page). The video for ‘Stars And Sorrow’ was filmed in our very own City of Oxford and was directed by elixirix (frontman of Oxford band Branch Immersion). The song itself is an icy swell of choir-like vocals over a simple, yet piognant piano melody. Tender, moving, beautiful.
