After an (ahem) interesting set at this year’s Truck Festival, Oxjam have raised a fist of solidarity for Oxford’s prime pickled psych-pop band Fixers, selecting them as headliners for this year’s Oxford Takeover. The event, which takes place across several different venues in Oxford’s city centre, is scheduled for 13th October 2012 and early bird tickets are now on sale. Other confirmed artists include Dubwiser, Kill Murray, Secret Rivals, The Grinding Young, We Aeronauts, Family Machine, Black Hats, Grudle Bay, The Yarns, The Wooden Sky, Evening Hymns, Flights Of Helios, Cat Matador, ToLiesel, Empty White Circles, Robots With Souls, ArtClassSink, We Are Goose, Ragged Claws, Dropout and Ioneye. There will also be a Blessing Force takeover for which the artists and venue will be confirmed at a later date.
Venues for the takeover include Modern Art Oxford, Purple Turtle, The Cellar and Turl Street Kitchen. This year will be Oxford’s second Oxjam Takeover and the Oxjam Oxford Takeoever team will be organising a number of exciting fundraising activities throughout the summer including a roof top gig at the SAID business school.
Tickets are priced at £7 and are available through WeGotTickets.
