OxOn Tour: Little Comets

Vampire Weekend helped usher in an age where tropical afro-beats and arch indie guitar lines sit comfortably together, lending deference to Peter Gabriel’s love for popular “world music” as much as paying tribute to the rough and ready (yet pretty and preppy) guitar rock of the early 00’s (The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand). Little Comets take that mould of indie-pop and make it a far more glitzy affair. You only need to hear their new single ‘Jeniffer’, which you can stream underneath courtesy of a radio rip from the Hugh Stevens show, to realise that Little Comets aren’t aiming for small scale recognition; perfectly pristine production and oodles of pop melodies thrown on top of sunshine drenched afro-beat rhythms.
