Savages and Palma Violets @ Jericho Tavern 31/07/2012

A possible classic here. Enigmatic and borderline elitist, the London bands are embarking on joint headline tour, arriving at the Jericho on 31st July.

Eerie, menacing post punk is provided by the brilliant Savages; an all girl group of the same ilk as The Pop Group and PiL, they have provided the world with an excellent double A-side entitled Flying To Berlin/Husbands thus far. The band have received very positive reviews for their intense live shows and are not to be missed.

NME faves and all-round ‘Hottest Band In London’ , Palma Violets are so cool that they practically refuse to let anyone listen to their music. You’ve got to work for that shit. There is one video available and I’m not sure it lives up to the hype.

Will this prove to be On a Friday in 1986? Probably not. What it may well be is a show that may well be impossible to see the like of in a year’s time. And it’s rubbish missing those.
