Oxjam Oxford Takeover Launch Gig

This Friday 27th July, head down to the Port Mahon pub on St Clements for the launch of the Oxjam Oxford Takeover 2012. The event is the first of many fundraising activities being held before the main takeover in October and kicking off the night will be solo artist, After The Thought, followed by young up-starts Duchess. Headlining are self described African-doom-dub-math band, Nairobi, fresh from playing Truck Festival. Tickets are available to pre-order or on the door for £4. All proceeds will of course go to Oxfam.

After The Thought – Demo

On a first impression I would call this EP more ambient for starters with a fleeting main course of trip-hop. As far as debuts go, After The Thought EP shows promise, especially in the last two tracks. On the other hand the producer seems to have gone beyond ambient with ‘Viaduct’ and ‘Fileofdivision’ and strayed into the realms of background music featuring glitches, like a scratched CD of whale music.
