New Song: Japandroids

Japandroids have announced the release of their new album Celebration Rock, which will be released on June 4th courtesy of Polyvinyl Record Co. ‘The House That Heaven Built’ is the first taster from the new album, a long awaited follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2009 debut, Post-Nothing, and is delicious slice of dystopian noise-punk-rock. The duo will also tour the UK at the following dates in May, and listen to the new song underneath (and remember to turn those speakers up as loud as they go!).

A Place To Bury Strangers – Onwards To the Wall EP

Connoisseurs of cacophony, A Place to Bury Strangers are back with a befittingly excellent and unsurprisingly loud EP, Onwards To the Wall; a record which sees the band continue their foray into industrial noise rock whilst retaining a sensibility that is unashamedly rooted in pop. Whilst the influences of Bauhaus, Joy Division and The Jesus and Mary Chain are still plain, both in their noisiness and pop familiarity, this effort incorporates a wider and more refreshing range of style, dynamics and influences. New Video: Robots With Souls

The one-man drum-skin bashing, bass guitar abusing, machine that is Steve Wilson (Phantom Theory, Toliesel) has released a video for his new solo side project Robots With Souls. Recently featured as an emerging artists on the405, Robots With Souls create noisy experimental drone rock. New track ‘Follow The Sun’ is an unforgiving industrial churning machine of distorted bass guitars and powerful snare stabs, with an unnervingly pretty outro. Watch the video here.

New Song: Islet

Noisy Welsh outfit Islet have made a bold statement with the release of a new song taken from their impending album release. ‘This Fortune’, which will feature on the band’s debut Illuminated People (released January 23rd on Turnstile), is a swirling mix of distorted synths, freeform percussion and vocals which oscilate wildly between delicate and primal. The band are also scheduled for a UK tour this November. Stream the track here.
