Tame Impala – Apocalypse Dreams

Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala have announced that they will be releasing their new album later this year; Lonerism will be released in October 2012 via Modular Recordings. Front-man Kevin Parker has once again recorded and produced the album himself (in studios, planes, hotels and homes around the world), and legendary producer Dave Fridmann has lent his skills to mixing the release. Lonerism is the follow-up to 2010’s startling breakthrough release Innerspeaker, which stood out for essentially being one long ode to ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’-era John Lennon. This time, judging by new song ‘Apocalypse Dreams’ which you can listen to or download using the widget underneath, is no less psychedelic, but focusing on a much more synth based sound. Tame Impala will also be touring throughout Europe and the US later this year featuring these UK dates:

Tue 30 Oct. London, UK – Brixton Academy
Thu 01 Nov. Manchester, UK – Ritz
Fri 02 Nov. Sheffield, UK – Leadmill
Sat 03 Nov. Glasgow, UK – ABC
