The release of The Epstein’s I Held You Once earlier this year, showed a band finally setting the beautiful and melancholy country-folk that had made them a staple part of the local live circuit, to record. This astonishingly professional EP also gave them good reason to travel through much of the UK but this Thursday sees them return to Oxford for what promises to be a truly lovely gig at The Bullingdon on Cowley Road.
The Epstein have always specialised in wistful and brooding country rock and I Held You Once, an EP widely regarded to be one of the most beautiful and accomplished releases to come out of Oxford in the last few years, perfectly demonstrated their knack for organic Americana.
On stage remains however, the best place to hear this ambitious band and with London-based Left With Pictures providing main support and highly admired local outfit The Yarns set to open the evening, this promises to be an evening of consistent, high quality music.
