On May 21st, two of the most influential music corporations in Oxfordshire will combine forces in some kind of massive Megatron of musical related funtimes. BBC Introducing in Oxford and Oxford o2 Academy have bumped fists and created a regular night showcasing all that is great and good about Oxford’s local talent. Every third Saturday of the month, Upstairs in the Academy will host an evening of live, and local, music.
May 21st sees Ute headline with support coming from Gunning For Tamar, Vixens, King Of Cats and The Graceful Slicks. Spring Offensive will headline on June 18th with support from Phantom Theory, Deer Chicago, Cat Matador and Message To Bears.
In the lead up to the night Upstairs will be filming exclusive sessions from every band playing. Each act will play an acoustic song in a unique location, and the videos will be released via Facebook, Twitter and any other form of social media they can lay their hands on – watch this space.
The bands will be recorded live and broadcast on the following BBC Introducing in Oxford show. The stage will be compered by BBC Introducing in Oxford’s Dave Gilyeat, and tunes will be spun by contributors to the show.
On top of ALL of that, they will throw in some club drink prices as well as FREE entry to Propaganda (where Huw Stephens is DJing on May 21st).
