Wood Festival Grows Nearer

Wood Festival is the sister event to the ever-growing local institution, Truck Festival, and takes place a month from now on May 20th-22nd. Wood carries Truck’s fundamental ethos of fantastic live music supported by independent companies into greener pastures, giving us all another excuse to get out and enjoy the fleeting British sun in the process.

For anyone new to Wood festival, you can expect a clean, family-friendly atmosphere, top-knotch facilities and to the surprise of many new comers, a stage made of wood; they don’t pick these names out of a hat you know! Undoubtedly one of Britain’s greenest festivals, Wood also offers an unusually high calibre selection of food stalls, and activities and workshops for people of all ages to get involved with.

For most festival-goers though, the most important factor will always remain, the line up. Thankfully, Wood Festival boasts a collection of artists punching way above its weight. Folkier than Truck, Wood sees a focus on acoustic, summary acts, perfect for sound-tracking a session on the local cider.

Line up highlights include Eliza Carthy Band, Willy Mason, who local gig-goers may remember from his captivating headline set at least year’s OX4, Treetop Flyers and local favourites The Epstein.

The full line-up, along with further workshops can be seen on Wood’s official website, as well as clicking on the image above.
